What is Dynamic Wax?

There is no Wax in Dynamic Wax.
Dynamic Wax is a nano-particle base treatment designed to reduce friction and repel water for
longer-lasting glide on skis and snowboards.
Unlike traditional hot wax, Dynamic Wax contains no wax at all. Instead, it uses specially
formulated nano-particles that penetrate deep into the base structure and bond with:

  • Your P-tex base
  • Existing wax (if present)
  • Itself

This creates a durable, hydrophobic, low-friction surface that sits within your base structure — not on top of it.

How does Dynamic Wax work?

Dynamic Wax works differently than traditional wax.
Traditional wax sits on the surface and lightly penetetrates the structure, it relies on temperature-
specific hardness to glide well. Dynamic Wax instead:

  • Uses ultra-small particles that penetrate deeper than traditional wax
  • Bonds with the base and existing wax layers
  • Creates a hydrophobic (water-repelling) surface
  • Reduces friction across a wide range of conditions
  • Because the particles are so small, you do not need heat to open the base structure for application.

Dynamic Wax comes in Ghost and permanent. Ghost is a temporary wax that wears off over time, similar to traditional waxes. Permanent is an expert-level product that requires specific and careful prep and, once applied, lasts the life of the equipment.

How do I apply Dynamic Wax: Ghost?

Application is quick and simple:
1. Make sure your base is dry and free of dirt or debris.
2. Lightly scrape or brush the base if there is heavy wax buildup.
3. Spray Dynamic Wax evenly across the base.
4. Allow it to penetrate and wait 5 minutes.
5. Wipe away the Dynamic Wax remaining on your skis or snowboard.
6. Go ride.

There is no iron, no curing time, and no complex prep required.

How do I apply Dynamic Wax: Permanent?

Can I apply Ghost or Traditional Wax over Dynamic Wax: Permanent?

While you don’t need to, you can.
Dynamic Wax: Ghost will bond with the top layer and give you an even more hydrophobic layer for a faster finish. The Ghost will wear off over time, leaving you with the original Dynamic Wax: Permanent finish.

Traditional Wax will mask the effect of the Permanent until it wears off. You will have the effects of the wax you put over top of it.

What’s the difference between Dynamic Wax Permanent and Dynamic WaxGhost?

Dynamic Wax Permanent

  • Made up of particles 1/10 th to 1/100 th the size of Ghost for deeper penetration into your structure.
  • Dries harder and creates a permanent base treatment
  • Builds a durable hydrophobic and low-friction layer
  • Ideal as your primary base prep or all-season treatment

Dynamic Wax Ghost

  • Works like traditional wax.
  • Often used for quick application and maintenance.
  • Can be used along with Permanent for an even faster downhill experience.

Both penetrate and bond with the base — neither is a traditional surface spray wax. There is no Wax in Dynamic Wax.

What do I need to do to prepare my skis or snowboard for Ghost?

Minimal prep is required:

  • Make sure bases are clean and dry
  • If there is heavy wax buildup, lightly scrape or brush first
  • Remove any wax sitting above the base surface

If excess wax is left sitting on top, Dynamic Wax can bond with it and create temporary sticky hot spots until those areas wear or are scraped off.

Can I apply Dynamic Wax: Ghost over traditional wax?

Yes — and this is actually one of the best ways to use it.

Dynamic Wax particles are smaller than the structure of traditional wax and will:

  • Penetrate into the existing wax layer
  • Bond with that wax and your base
  • Strengthen and extend glide performance

It effectively turns your existing wax layer into a deeper, more durable hydrophobic surface.

Can I apply Dynamic Wax: Ghost over factory wax on new skis?

Yes.

You can apply Dynamic Wax: Ghost directly over factory wax. It will penetrate through the factory wax and bond with both the wax and base.

We recommend:

  • Lightly scraping first to remove
any excess wax sitting above the base
  • Then applying Dynamic Wax: Ghostnormally

This ensures even bonding and prevents buildup hot spots.

Will it last as long as hot wax?

Dynamic Wax: Ghost is not a traditional wax and does not behave like one.

Because it penetrates deep into the base structure and bonds within it, many users find:

  • Longer effective glide than typical spray waxes
  • Comparable durability to traditional waxing for recreational use
  • Excellent performance without frequent hot waxing

Hot waxing is still great and always a valid option — Dynamic Wax is designed as either:

  • An alternative to hot waxing
  • Or a performance-enhancing layer used with it
What temperatures does Dynamic Wax work best in?

Because it’s not temperature-hardness based, Dynamic Wax works across a wide range.

Best performance:

  • Wet snow
  • Spring skiing
  • Mixed and mid-temperature conditions
  • Down to around 0°C (32°F)

Good performance:

  • Most winter conditions

Less ideal:

  • Extreme cold
  • Very hard, abrasive snow or ice
  • Around −10°C (14°F) and below

We are conducting additional testing in extreme low temperatures (including Alaska conditions) to further improve performance in very cold, hard-particle snow.

Can I use Dynamic Wax in very cold conditions?

Yes — but with some limitations.

It will still provide glide and base protection, but:

  • It performs best in wet to mid-temperature conditions
  • Extremely cold, abrasive snow may reduce its effectiveness
  • These conditions will shorten the effective life of Dynamic Wax: Ghost
  • Ongoing testing is focused on improving performance in these environments

Many riders still use it as a base layer even in colder regions.

How long does an application of Dynamic Wax: Ghost last?

A new coat of Ghost will last for 3-5 days of regular use.  Extreme cold or hard snow will shorten its effectiveness and should be reapplied every 2-3 days.

How many days of skiing will I get outof a bottle of Ghost?

A 150 ML bottle has around 10 applications and will last for 30-50 days of normal use when reapplied every 3-5 days.

Do I need to remove old wax beforeapplying Ghost?

No full strip required.

Just ensure:

  • No heavy buildup above the base
  • Base is clean and dry

Dynamic Wax: Ghost is designed to work with existing wax layers, not against them.

Remember, if you are applying Permanent you have to strip and clean your base before applying.  Nothing, not even Ghost can be on the base when you start.

Can it be used as my only wax?

Yes.

Many customers use Dynamic Wax as their primary all-purpose base treatment for the entire season. Others layer it with traditional wax for added durability and glide.

Why can’t you ship to PO Boxes?

Dynamic Wax Ghost contains a small amount of alcohol that requires FedEx Ground shipping.

FedEx Ground does not deliver to PO boxes, so we require a physical delivery address for orders containing Ghost.

Do you ship to Alaska?

We’re working on improving Alaska shipping options.

Currently:

  • FedEx Ground shipping to Alaska can cost ~$70
  • Rather than pass along excessive shipping fees, we’re exploring local distribution or fulfillment partners in Alaska

Our goal is to provide reasonable shipping options for Alaska customers.

Is Dynamic Wax only for racing?

Not at all.

Dynamic Wax was designed as an easy, high-performance solution for everyday riders who want:

  • Great glide
  • Minimal prep time
  • No irons or tuning benches
  • Consistent performance across conditions

From weekend riders to serious skiers and snowboarders — it’s built to make fast bases simple.

Why are my skis sticky after applying Dynamic Wax: Ghost?

There are a few possibilities.

1.     The most common cause of stick is
leaving the spray on too long and not properly buffing it out.  When you spray Ghost on you base it immediately begins penetrating and bonding with your structure.  Unneeded product pools up on the top of you base.  If this is left to dry, it will
leave a sticky residue.  After leaving it
for 5 minutes to maximize penetration, you should buff your skis clean, leaving
a fast and satin finish.

2.     If your base has existing wax buildup
on top of the structure when Ghost is applied, it will penetrate it and bond, leaving sticky hot spots on your skis. Make sure you base is scraped clean before applying.

3.     An older bottle that has been exposed
to plastic or excessive heat will begin to gel.
This gel will not penetrate your structure and sit on top leaving your skis sticky.  Proper storage extends the life of your bottle of Dynamic Wax: Ghost.

Is it OK is I just spray Ghost on my skis and ride, without buffing?

You can but it’s better to buff your skis clean.  If you leave residue on the surface of your skis and snowboards it will be sticky and slow until you’ve ridden on them long
enough for the snow to rub off the material left above your structure.

Life is too short to go slow, we prefer buffing them clean with a microfiber cloth or other cloth.

Does Dynamic Wax Spoil and how do I store it?

Dynamic Wax will begin to set up under prolonged exposure to heat, oxygen
or plastic.  If you don’t use your bottle
during the ski season, we recommend removing the sprayer and putting the
aluminum cap back on, then storing your bottle in room temperature or cooler.

For the longest life, remove the plastic sprayer, replace the aluminum
cap and store in a refrigerator.

What safety precautions should I follow when applying?

Yes — but with some limitations.

Is Dynamic Wax environmentally safe?

From the original concept to our most recent products, each Dynamic Wax formula is blended from products that aren’t dangerous to the water or mountains and break down over time.  We leave no forever chemicals behind.  Made without PFAS.

Can I fly with a bottle of Dynamic Wax?

TSA does not allow flammable liquids on airplanes.  Even though the amount of alcohol in a bottle is small, it is still flammable and shouldn’t be brought on a plane without
following proper shipping requirements.

Once applied, it is no longer flammable and your skis can fly.
